Slingo for Kindle

slingoAnother fun and well known game is available for the Kindle and Kindle DX.  This one is called Slingo.  It is a combination of Slots and Bingo.

The board consists of 5 columns and 5 rows.  At the bottom is a row of numbers, one for each row on the board.  If you spin the reel and get a number that matches a number on your board, you get to check that one off.  To win, you need to match the numbers in rows of 5 horizontally, vertically or diagonally.

Important tokens to keep an eye out for in Slingo:

Joker – represents any number, so it can be viewed as a “wild card”

Devil – It takes half of your points.

Cherub – This token saves you if you get a Devil.  It can also double your points.

Coins – When these appear, you get 1000 extra points!

The reviews for Slingo are great overall.  Many of the reviewers have played this game via other methods.

Annette:

“This is so great! I love playing Slingo on my PC, now I can take it with me. Another great thing is that it helped my grandchildren learn how to manuever the Kindle 2 by playing Slingo. They got use to the small buttons on the Kindle and feel more comfortable using it now.”

Ellen Bridges:

“The only thing missing from this game is the sound. But I never did like listening to the Devil laughing whenever he took half my points, so I enjoy not having to hear him.

This Kindle version is a very good adaptation of a classic hand-held and PC game, and I think it is well worth the price. If Amazon keeps this up, I may have to unload a few books from my Kindle to make room for the games! (Not really, as each game seems to take up the same amount of memory as just one book.)”

R.A. Eskenazi:

“I bought my Kindle to read books..that’s it, just to read books. But I saw that Slingo was available for download and decided to give it a try. Now I wish I hadn’t because it is so darn addictive! I can’t stop playing it! The game is just like the online version. A bingo/slot hybrid. Its a quick game that keeps you occupied. If I have one complaint its that I wish it could have sound. Other than that, its a fun game and works well on my Kindle!”
