When Kindle International was originally annouced several many people complained that book selection that is available outside of the US is inferior to what is available to American customers. I guess Amazon is well aware of the problem and are working on negotiating more deals with local and international publishers to expand the eBook selection.
Thank you for the update. I hope that the number of titles available in Denmark will increase from 290.000. Almost all of the titles i’m interested in, are not available with a Kindle registered in Denmark. But, as you also point out, Amazon must be aware of the problem of lacking titles outside the US.
This seems to be the case for Sweden as well. Several books marked as “not available in you region” has become available for purchase as of yesterday.
