Kindle Black Friday Deal (buying 2nd generation Kindle 3G eReader for $89) is live Black Friday Lightning Deals page on Amazon Black Friday home page (to have easier time finding the deal, select “Kindle Store” in the category selector – it will be the only deal there). Here is a screen shot of the deal. You can click on it to go to the deal page.
Deals page on Amazon.com website seems to be extremely slow to load this morning. By the looks of it a lot of shoppers convinced by the ads decided to cyber-shop on Amazon this Black Friday rather than camp at 4am on Best Buy parking lot. If Amazon Black Friday Lightning Deals page is being slow for you or fails to load at all, you can check out this copy that I’ve created that is lightweight. It only contains Black Friday deals that are currently active and not sold out (why would you care about other deals anyway?) so Kindle deal should also be there only while supplies last. I try to have the deals updated every minute but even with 2 redundant servers doing it parallel, Amazon website sometimes doesn’t respond at all.
And of course, should you be out of luck on Black Friday Kindle 2 for $89, you can always get the latest generation Kindle 3 with WiFi for $139.
I will keep updating this page as the deal unfolds.
This sale was BOGUS! I literally hit the botton to “buy” the item at 9 am PST- sharp the second the price changed to 89.00… it was in my cart and amazon booted me out of the system. I called them all the guy in INDIA could tell me was that they are having updating problems!!! THEY WILL NEVER GET MY BUSINESS AGAIN !!Amazon is rip off scam!
I (along with many others) clicked add to cart the very second it went on sale. I do not know of one person who got the deal yet. Thanks for nothing Amazon. It would have been nice to know how many were actaully available.
I don’t believe that there was anything bogus about the sale. Please consider that Amazon.com is the leading online retailer and Amazon Kindle is their bestselling product. Imagine how many of these they sell every minute. Amazon handles so many transactions that if there is a problem with their website, they see a measurable drop off in revenue within seconds and actual alarm siren goes off in the building (so I was told by a person who used to work at Amazon)
Now imagine how many people were hunting for Black Friday deals on Amazon this morning. And most of them had the page pre-loaded like I did to take the screenshot of the “Add to cart” button. Consider how much hyped this deal was by mass media. Imagine how many of them clicked on the button within a fraction of a second of the deal going live. Obviously it was more than Amazon had Kindles for sale.
That being said I’m very eager to hear comments from people who actually did get this Kindle for $89.
Yeah, BOGUS!!! Was on three computers and hit the “deal” in less than a nanosecond when it went live, and still did NOT get in. Disgusted and disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep!
Have bought Barnes&Noble Nook yesterday for 79$ only :p
I think it was bogus as well … I clicked it and they went to my cart but the price would never change. Spent hours trying to figure it out but gave up. Thanks for nothing ….
Wow, I feel lucky, I had two windows open, one wouldn’t even load the page, but the other I had open since 5 am and as soon as the deal came up I clicked, took a few seconds to check availability and add to my cart. I 1-click ordered and was done in about 20 seconds total.
The old bait and switch. I had a window open and nothing. Would not let me click on it. I am disappointed in Amazon.
THERE IS NO WAY THESE WERE AVAILABLE @ 9AM PST! IF AT ALL!! I WAS FIRED UP READY TO GO @ 8:30 AND IT NEVER ADVERTISED THE KINDLE FOR $89. WHAT A SCAM! I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE @ 11AM AND WAS TOLD THEY SOLD OUT @ 11:40 AND THERE WAS A WAITING LIST. HOWEVER HIS SUPERVISOR STATED THERE IS NOT A WAITING LIST. THERE IS A LOT OF WASTED TIME ON MY PART AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN AMAZON.
CORRECTION…..THE KINDLE 2 SOLD OUT AT 9:40 PST……SORRY ABOUT THAT
